There are a number of services you can sign up for in order to be kept up to date on a variety of matters affecting your community, and several resources that make requesting services a breeze.

NotifyLA - you can sign up for the City of Los Angeles' emergency notification program, NotifyLA, two different ways, and the City recommends you subscribe to both systems.  Nixle - text your zip code to 888777 to opt-in, or sign up online at https://local.nixle.com/register/.  The second way is by creating an account at: https://emergency.lacity.org/alerts/notifyla, and select "create an account" in the description Sign Up for Alerts.
 
Fire alerts - download the Everbridge app and subscribe to alerts from LAFD.  You will also be able to sign up for other services that provide alerts through the Everbridge app.  You can also go to https://lafd.org/alerts and scroll to the bottom of the page for their "Sign Up for Alerts."

Crime - our Senior Lead Officer puts out a weekly newsletter regarding crime in our area and includes important safety tips - email Officer Matthew Kirk at: 34713@lapd.online to be added to his distribution list . There is also the website: www.crime mapping.com, where one can sign up for alerts regarding crimes in your area.  In addition, one of our BCC Board Members, Judie Hulett, runs a network to help provide information to neighbors regarding local crim.  Email judie@neighborsnetwork.net to subscribe.

To make requests of City Services - MyLA311 - download the MyLA311 app and have access to numerous City agencies and the ability to request a variety of services from the City.

Power outages in your area - DWP provides text message alerts regarding power outages in your area. Sign up at: www.ladwp.com. Click on “power outages,” then click on “subscribe for outage alerts.”

For a traffic signal that is not working - go straight to LADOT (213) 485-4184 and select option 2.

To report a homeless individual in need of help - go to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Portal - www.lahsa.org/portal
